A therapy practice will be opened in York by a BACP-registered and qualified counsellor.

Inner Reach Therapy, run by Caroline Kitching of Ryedale, will operate out of Regus on Oakdale Road.

Having worked in the agricultural industry for more than 30 years, Ms Kitching has a good understanding of the unique stresses the industry involves, and was previously a mental health lead for a farming charity.

Ms Kitching offers tailored counselling for anyone experiencing mental health issues.

Areas in which she specialises include self-esteem and confidence issues, depression, anxiety, relationship and family problems, trauma, and domestic abuse recovery.

Clients can choose between online or face-to-face counselling sessions.

Ms Kitching also offers concessionary appointments, including concessions for blue light workers.

She draws from her observation of the mental health strains borne by hospital staff during the COVID-19 pandemic and the current economic challenges of the NHS.

Her perspective is informed by her husband, who is an A&E consultant at York Teaching Hospital.

Ms Kitching's website is https://www.innerreachtherapy.co.uk, and she offers a free 20 minute online consultation.
