A much-loved agricultural show is returning to a North Yorkshire village this summer.

The Rosedale show is set to bring fun for the whole family on Saturday, August 17, from 9am.

Planning is underway for the event which takes place in Milburn Field, Rosedale Abbey, behind the Milburn Arms Hotel.

Parking is free and entry prices are £7 for adults, £6 for seniors, £5 for children and under fives go free.

Sam Dring, chair of the Rosedale Show committee, said attendees to the over 150-year-old show can expect a fresh offering this year.

“We will be trialling a new ring format with two main rings instead of the usual one, so we can bring the very popular show jumping events forward in the day's programme,” she said.

“Also, we have updated the show schedule to try out some new classes while keeping most of the old favourites - keeping alive the traditions of Rosedale Show and continuing to appeal to a wide range of ages and interests.”

Sam explained that the show is aiming to receive all entries before the deadline of Saturday, August 3.

She said there will be a Rosedale Show entries night at the Abbey Stores and Tearoom in the village on Friday, August 2, from 6pm to 8pm where people can come along and drop off their entries if they haven't already done so.

“On behalf of the committee we look forward to welcoming everyone to the 'best little show' in the county on Saturday, August 17 - see you there,” Sam added.
