The June meeting of the Ryedale Parkinson’s Support Group was an outing to Sledmere House. The rain held off and the group was able to enjoy an informative and gentle tour of the Walled Garden with Jan the head gardener.
A spokesperson for the group said: "There were so many wonderful plantings and garden features including the wisteria archway over the footpath and the magnificent vegetable area where creative ways with twigs and sticks were used to support the plants. We appreciated Jan answering any questions we had.
"We made our way back to the cafe and were very well catered for by the staff there. It was lovely to be served individually and for the staff to speak to people by their name. We very much enjoyed the refreshments and time chatting in the cafe.
"Our group would like to thank Community Connect and the Malton Rotary Club for their generous donations. We very much appreciate your support."
Meetings usually take place at Trinity Church, Commercial Street, Norton on the second Thursday of each month at 2pm.
