There is something for everyone in this brilliant summer lineup of authors hosted by Kemps bookstore in Malton.

From cosy crime to a poignant memoir about training to be a psychotherapist, join Kemps in July and August for uplifting and insightful discussions and anecdotes to occupy your summer.

Yorkshire author, JM Hall, will be joining Kemps for an evening on July 30 to discuss his new book A Clock Stopped Dead. This book epitomises cosy crime as we join Pat, Liz, and Thelma from Thirsk Garden Centre as they swap their coffee morning for a brand new mystery. This Yorkshire-based crime novel is a fun uplifting read to add to your list this summer.

The Yorkshire theme continues as Barnsley-born author, Milly Johnson, will be at the Milton Rooms, Malton, this Yorkshire Day. Milly is a Sunday Times bestseller and one of the Top 10 Female Fiction authors in the UK, selling millions of copies of her books worldwide, so Kemps is very pleased to have secured her for an event to promote her latest book The Happiest Ever After. Supporting your local bookshop will help ensure more well-known names visit Malton. This event will be a fun and relaxing evening so book now at www.themiltonrooms.com.

Natalie Cawley will also be joining Kemps bookstore in August. Unlike the other authors, Natalie brings us a non-fictional memoir offering insight into her experiences as a psychotherapist and counselling psychologist. Just About Coping is both funny and poignant, but overall an honest account of her experience as she tackles health conditions and clinical presentations in the community and within psychiatric hospitals.

Join Kemps on August 9 for a fascinating evening of conversation discussing Natalie’s book, journeying into our inner worlds, where the drama of our break-ups, breakdowns and breakthroughs takes place, where you will discover that we are all just about coping, even your therapist.

Kemps owner Liz Kemp said: "Kerry, Jo and Cindy from our team will be hosting these events for us. We really hope you will support them, the visiting authors and our bookshop by booking tickets and coming along."

More details of these and future events can be found at www.kempsgeneralstore.co.uk or in store.
