Two North Yorkshire councillors have been appointed to positions at the Howardian Hills Partnership.
George Jabbour has succeeded Sir William Worsley as chair of the organisation.
Caroline Goodrick succeeds Mr Jabbour as vice chair.
The appointments were made at a recent meeting of the National Landscape’s Joint Advisory Committee (JAC), of which Ms Goodrick has been a member for a number of years.
Both councillors represent several parishes within the Howardian Hills National Landscape.
Mr Jabbour said: "I am enormously thankful to my colleagues for putting their confidence in me.
"Sir William’s leadership and chairmanship have been inspirational.
"I am thrilled to be assuming this new responsibility.
"I look forward to continuing working with my colleagues on the Joint Advisory Committee, with the amazing members of staff of the Howardian Hills and with our local communities across our stunning National Landscape.”
Since 2022, shortly after his election to North Yorkshire Council, Mr Jabbour had served as vice chair for the Partnership.
