THE owners of a village pub have raised £2,781 for Ryedale Special Families (RSF).

Last July, the team at the Moors Inn, Appleton le Moors launched a year of fundraising for RSF with a fabulous weekend of bands and barbecues.

Other music evenings and a quiz took the total to £2,781.

Katie and Jon Sharp, owners of the Moors Inn, said: “We wanted to raise funds and awareness for this local charity which gives essential support for families with children and young adults with disabilities, illness and additional needs.”

RSF, which provides support to 400 families in North Yorkshire, is moving to a new home in Pickering that will be fully accessible and will include specially designed facilities and sensory spaces for disabled young people.

Rob Davies, Funding Coordinator of Ryedale Special Families, said: “On behalf of all the families we support I’d like to pass on our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for raising such an incredible amount. Yet again the local support we’ve received has been outstanding and every pound raised brings us a step closer to completion of our new building in Pickering.’
