A mysterious burial plot has appeared at Malton cemetery.
The partially dug grave appears to have been made last weekend.
It was reported to police on Monday as it hadn't been dug by the cemetery manager and was not assigned to anyone deceased.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: " It is believed to have been a mistake rather than anything sinister."
