Ryedale's motorists will have 17 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 17 closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• A64, from 9pm May 7 to 5am May 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Pickering to Brambling Fields, carriageway closure for barrier repairs, diversion via local authority and National highways networks.

• A64, from 8pm May 9 to 6am May 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Rillington, Lane closure for general cleaning and maintenance works.

• A64, from 8pm May 10 to 6am May 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Staxton, traffic signals for carriageway improvements.

• A64, from 8pm May 10 to 6am May 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, West Knapton, traffic signals for general cleaning and maintenance works.

• A64, from 8pm May 13 to 6am May 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, West Knapton, Lane closure general cleaning and maintenance works.

• A64, from 9.30am to 3pm on May 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Welburn to High hutton, Stop and go boards for general cleaning and maintenance.

• A64, from 8pm May 15 to 6am May 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Sherburn, traffic signals for general cleaning and maintenance works.

• A64, from 9pm May 15 to 5am May 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Rillington, traffic signals for general cleaning and maintenance.

• A64, from 8pm May 16 to 6am May 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Towthorpe Moor Lane to Scotchman Lane, carriageway closure for general cleaning and maintenance, diversion via local authority and National Highways networks.

• A64, from 1.30pm May 18 to 6pm May 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound, Scampston, lane closure for event off network.

• A64, from 9am May 20 to 3.30pm June 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Hopgrove to Musham bank, Stop and go for general cleaning and maintenance.

• A64, from 8pm May 20 to 6am June 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, West Heslerton to Sherburn, traffic signals for survey works.

• A64, from 9pm May 20 to 6am May 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound, Musley bank to Pickering, Lane closure for general cleaning and maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
