Discover the art of seeing with a series of new mindful photography walks in Ryedale.
As the world rushes by, local photographer and artist Rachel Rimell invites you to slow down and unleash your creativity with a gentle introduction to mindfulness through a lens.
All the walks are suitable for anyone with a smartphone camera and no photography experience is necessary. The walks will encourage participants to breathe deeply, re-engage their eyes and minds and appreciate the everyday beauty around them with a series of simple exercises and techniques to look beyond the surface while mindfully improving their photography skills. There is also the opportunity to exhibit work taken on the walks at Helmsley Arts Centre later in the year.
The walks have been made possible by support from North Yorkshire Council. Walks details are as follows:
Thursday 25th April: 10am. Staindale Lake Dalby. 1 hour (Easy)
Monday 20th May: 8pm. Malton Golden Hour. 1 hour (Easy)
Monday 27th June: 10am. Around Rievaulx. 1.5 hours (Moderate)
