NORTON Road between Norton and Malton is expected to be closed until later this week due to a damaged sewer.
A diversion has been in place since the weekend after the road was closed leading to traffic chaos.
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: “We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the closure of Norton Road. Our teams are repairing a damaged sewer and to enable them to complete the work safely, a road closure was required. Our teams are working as quickly as possible to minimise disruption and we thank customers for bearing with us while this essential work is carried out. The road is expected to reopen later this week."
