Ellis Patents, an innovative engineering manufacturer based in Rillington, is taking part in Elf Day, organised by Alzheimer's Society to raise funds and awareness for those affected by dementia.
Elf Day, takes place on December 6and is a nationwide event that encourages individuals and organisations to embrace their inner elves, donning festive attire and spreading joy while raising much-needed funds for Alzheimer's Society.
This year, the employees of Ellis Patents will be swapping their usual work attire for elf costumes, transforming the workplace into a festive hub of holiday cheer with competitions and a cake sale.
In addition to the internal festivities, Ellis Patents is calling on clients, partners, and the local community to join them in supporting Elf Day. Through this collaborative effort, they aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by dementia.
Ellis’s Marketing Manager, Georgette Donoghue, a former member of the Scarborough Dementia Action Alliance. who joined Ellis earlier this year.said: “I was really pleased when I discovered Ellis has previously supported Elf Day, they have several charities they support on a regular basis including The York Minster Fund and a selecion of local community projects. Elf Day is a real passion of mine. There are so many people who are affected by dementia either directly or indirectly, including members of my own family. Dementia is not a natural part of ageing and anything we can do to find a cure for this horrible disease has got to be worth it – and with Elf Day we all get to have fun at the same time.
