CHURCH Street in Norton has been closed this evening (Monday) to allow emergency pumps to be put in place.
At 6pm the River Derwent was recorded at 4 metres - the highest level recorded was 5.05 metres on 22 January 2021.
Riverside Walk is also currently closed due to flooding.
Many parts of Ryedale have seen flooding over recent days with nearly 50mm of rainfall reported at the weekend.
Andy from North Yorkshire Weather said Rievaulx saw the most rainfall with 48.7mm since midnight.
He added: "Lots of reports of flooding across the region this morning especially the Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside area. Widely 30-50mm of rainfall since midnight with no warnings from the Met Office."
Sinnington, Marton and Settrington were also affected.
