A COUPLE who met at a dance class in Norton have celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Eric and Carol Rowsby were teenagers when they started courting after meeting at the class at St Peter's Church House.
They married five years later at St Peter's Church on October 4, 1958 and have lived in Norton ever since.
Both Eric, now 87, and Carol had accounting backgrounds and ran their own business, C & E Rowsby in Welham Road which was subject to a number of the severe floods in the town.
"Our staff were like family," Carol. who will be 89 on Christmas Day said.
The couple have three children, Christopher, Susan and Philip, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Eric and Carol said they enjoy their garden and spending time with their family who hosted an afternoon tea to mark their Sapphire Wedding Anniversary.
Among the many cards they received was one from the King and Queen who congratulated the couple on their special day.
