Work has started in Norton to upgrade the electricity substation and install new cables.
Road closures will be in place in Welham Road, Church Street and St Nicholas Street.
A spokesperson for Northern Powergrid, the company responsible for the network that delivers electricity to 8 million customers across the North East, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire, confirmed the start of works at Norton, Malton.
“Northern Powergrid is carrying out works to provide a new electricity supply for a fuel station and electric vehicle charging facilities.
“We are upgrading the local substation and laying new cables to facilitate the new property.
“Works have commenced today, Monday 9 October and are expected to last for three weeks. Traffic management is in place to safely carry out the necessary works.”
