THE RAF Association (Ryedale Branch) commemorated the Battle of Britain 83rd Anniversary with a Memorial Service.
The service, on September 13 at St Peter's Church Norton, was led by the Rev Jenny Buckler. Members of the church hoisted the RAF Association ensign and rang a peal of bells prior to the service.
Afterwards clergy, members and friends enjoyed a buffet lunch in Church House.
A spokesperson for the Association, said: " It was a poignant and moving service with four Branch Members reading out the 100 names of those Branch Members lost since the creation of the Ryedale Branch in 1999.
"In her address, the Rev Jenny Buckler spoke of Jesus' words in John 15, 'Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends'.
"The RAF Association is pledged to keep alive the memory of those of all nations who died in the Royal Air Force and the Air Forces of the Commonwealth. We will remember them."
