The recent Slingsby School Duck Race and Family Fun Day was a tremendous success despite the heavy rain and last-minute venue change.
The event managed to raise an incredible £3,600 in "much needed funds" for the school.
Families from the community gathered at the Village Hall, taking part in fun activities throughout the day.
One parent, Katharine Pope, said: "It was lovely to see so many families from our community in the Village Hall enjoying all the fun activities.
"The Duck Race itself was another exciting scramble down the beck to the finish line, with the lead changing hands several times."
In the end, Henry emerged as the winner, being the sponsor of the victorious duck named 'Lightning McDuck'.
The success of the Duck Race and Family Fun Day would not have been possible without the hard work put in by the dedicated team of parent volunteers, with the Friends of Slingsby School (FOSS) leading the effort.
Thanks were also given to parent Andrew Pern for donating 'meat and delicious accompaniments' to the barbecue, which proved to be a big hit.
Katharine said: "A huge thank you to our hard-working team of parent volunteers, led by FOSS (Friends of Slingsby School) and so many parent volunteers.
"Thank you also to Andrew Pern, one of our parents and owner of The Star Inn for donating all the meat and delicious accompaniments for the barbecue.
"If you didn’t get to try one of his burgers, you really missed out!"
