Hundreds of people flocked to a school fair in Ryedale.
The first summer fair in four years at Amotherby School, near Malton, on July 8 brought with it over 400 attendees who turned out despite the pouring rain.
Through the day the school’s newly formed PTA, which organised the event, raised £3,204 to fund replacing outdoor play equipment for pupils.
A spokesperson for the PTA said the team were “bowled over with how many people attended”.
Attendees included the school and village community, former pupils, families and even past dinner ladies.
On the day guests enjoyed live music and performances, a ‘guess the number of balloons in the car’ challenge, prize pong, pony rides, a fire engine from Pickering Fire Station and more.

The afternoon was rounded off with a performance from the Thornton Dale Ukulele Strummers who were a hit with the crowd.
Beth Chaplin, a teacher at the school, said the day was “brilliantly done and loved by all”.
“It’s great having a PTA at school now and it makes such a difference to the children, the school, the parents and the whole school community,” she said.
The PTA spokesperson added: “The PTA would like to give a massive thank you to everyone that contributed, donated and volunteered to support the summer fair.”
