National Trust is gearing up for an exciting summer at Nunnington Hall near Helmsley with a range of activities for the whole family.
Children's book illustrator Georgia Cowley has teamed up with the National Trust property to create an exhibition that focuses on making drawing a fun and playful experience.
Drawing inspiration from her surroundings, Georgia combines adventure and imagination games in her work.
The "Let's Draw! Featuring Georgia Cowley" exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday, July 15, all the way through to Sunday, September 3.
In addition to the exhibition, Georgia will be visiting Nunnington Hall for four days in August to host illustration sessions for children of all ages, where she will share her tips on storytelling and illustrating.
To complement Georgia's illustrations, the property will also feature a garden trail themed around garden birds.
Laura Kennedy, Experience & Programming Manager at Nunnington Hall, said: “We’re delighted with the work Georgia has created for the exhibition here. She’s passionate about creating and sharing stories accessible for everyone and we’re excited for the illustration sessions she will be running for visitors.
"The exhibition includes a fun 'illustrators’ studio' space, a reading hub and an interactive gallery to share your work alongside Georgia's original illustrations. All the family are encouraged to come along and get involved throughout the summer.”
The Summer of Play activities will kick off on Saturday, July 22.
Families can participate in various activities, such as croquet and badminton on the main lawn, or enjoy yoga and art supplies in the cutting garden.
Nunnington Hall is open from 10.30am to 5pm, with the last admission at 4.15pm.
No booking is required for the exhibition or activities.
The tea room will also be open for visitors to grab a drink or snack during their visit.
Normal admission rates apply to the property, but National Trust members can enjoy free entry.
