Wildlife artist Jonathan Pomroy hosted a special evening at Gilling East Village Hall to raise awareness and funds for the Swift Conservation charity during Swift Awareness Week.
Mr Pomroy spoke about swifts, house martins, and swallows, showcasing different types of nest boxes and explaining how house martins construct their mud nests.
He also demonstrated the movement of swifts' wings during flight through his sketches.
After the talk, participants witnessed a splendid aerial display by local swifts and house martins outside the village hall.
They also explored other nesting sites in the area and had the opportunity to view live webcam footage from inside a swift nesting box.
To their delight, a swift flew into the box while they watched, providing a close-up view on the camera.
All proceeds from the event were generously donated to the Swift Conservation Charity, supporting their efforts to protect these remarkable birds.
