Pupils at St Hilda's Church of England VC Primary School in Ampleforth enjoyed an exciting seaside themed afternoon filled with laughter, sunshine, and ice-lollies.
The event was made even more special by the addition of children from Daisy Daycare, who provide wrap-around and holiday club services to many of the school's pupils.
The older children took great care of the younger ones and they had lots of fun together.
After the event, parents gathered to hear the news that the new head of school from September will be Mrs Faye Dodds-Aston, a parent herself whose own children attended the school.
St Hilda's remains well-supported by the Ryedale Learning Trust and Mrs Claire Lamb, who serves as the executive headteacher.
In addition to these exciting developments, the school also revealed an offer of five fully funded full-time pre-school places for children who have turned three years old.
This means that in addition to the 15 hours previously offered using Nursery vouchers, once a child has had their third birthday, they may attend pre-school from 9am to 3.30pm without any additional cost.
Parents have the option of bringing packed lunches or paying for lunches provided by the school.
