POLICE have been out in force across some of North Yorkshire’s coastal towns.
Members from North Yorkshire Police’s Scarborough District have visited several coastal locations across the Bank Holiday as part of Project Servator, involving ‘highly visible and unpredictable deployments’.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Servator by the Sea!
“Project Servator officers popped up in various coastal locations over the bank holiday weekend. Great to meet so may people!
“We pop up anywhere, at any time. But where to next?”

Pictures show officers deployed at several locations, including outside Whitby Train Station and Scarborough’s high street and Brunswick Shopping Centre.
Project Servator was launched six years ago, with police officers specially trained to identify individuals who may be planning or preparing to commit a criminal act.
Resources for the project include police dogs and horses, armed vehicles, plain-clothed police officers and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR).
