Fairs are to take place across Ryedale with the goal of shining a spotlight on small businesses.
The Handmade and Vintage Fair takes places at venues across the district.
Organiser of the fair, Rachael Shakerley, said she started the fair last year (2022) with a small offering, but has since expanded this.
“I created this fair because I wanted a really good platform for small businesses to sell their goods,” she said.
“I have been doing fairs for a long time.
“I wanted to create a fair that wasn’t a craft fair. It was the next step up.”

Rachael, who lives in Pickering, said that since the fair started, a loyal following has build up - with many customers following the fair around its many locations.
In the coming months the fair will arrive at Pickering’s Memorial Hall on April 30 and May 27; Malton’s Milton Rooms on May 12 and July 8; Helmsley Arts Centre on April 23 and June 11; and The Hill Institute Thornton-le-Dale on May 6 and June 10.
The fair will also arrive in Thirsk and Easingwold.
Rachael went on to explain how the fair has over 120 traders in total, with 25 to 30 at each event.
