There was one more Covid death recorded over the latest weekly period in Ryedale.
Latest figures from the UK coronavirus dashboard show a total of 160 people had died in the area by April 6 – up from 159 on the week before.
Despite this, the figures show that there are less people being treated with Covid at the York and Scarborough Hospitals Trust.
As of April 19, the trust was caring for 117 patients with Covid – a drop from 146 on the same day the previous week.
The number of beds at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid also decreased by 13 per cent in the last four weeks – 28 days ago, there were 134.
Nationally, the number of hospital patients with Covid has decreased by 33 per cent in the last four weeks, while the number on mechanical ventilators has decreased by 31 per cent.
The figures also show that 50 new patients with Covid were admitted to hospital in York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the week to April 17.
This was up from 45 in the previous seven days.
