Speeding, parking, anti-social behaviour and enforcement were among the topics at the Annual Parish Assembly of Helmsley Town Council.
The meeting, which took place earlier this week in Helmsley, was attended by many people who also celebrated the organisations and groups which had received funding and support from the Town Council during the last financial year.
Local police officers were also on hand to take questions from the public.
North Yorkshire Police Constable Jez Walmsley said: “We are always here to help anyone who needs us in Helmsley and the surrounding villages. Residents should contact us to report any concerns. It is 999 for emergencies. However, for non-emergency situations, please call 101.”
PCSO Sean Simpson added: "We would like to encourage residents to sign up to North Yorkshire Community Messaging service to receive news and updates on policing matters that are relevant to their local community. They could do so by following this link: https://www.northyorkshirecommunitymessaging.co.uk/"
Helmsley Town Councillor Ian Saggers, who chaired the meeting, added: “The Annual Parish Assembly is always an excellent opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the best of Helmsley. I am proud of the support that the Town Council has provided to so many good causes in our community. I am also delighted that the local Police representatives and Councillor George Jabbour were able to join us.”
Helmsley’s North Yorkshire Councillor George Jabbour said: “As soon as I was elected last year, I met with the local Police to raise my concerns and the concerns that residents had highlighted to me. Furthermore, I have been in regular contact with the Police and asked them to meet with our community to hear first-hand about our worries. So, I am really glad that many attended the meeting.”
