A café in Pickering has reacted after being turned into a film set for the day.
NY500 café was picked as the location to shoot a car meet up scene in upcoming action film, ‘Relentless’, written and directed by Christopher Torretto.
The Malton Road venue was chosen following Christopher’s time living in Pickering.
Rebecca Ryder-Rogers, from the café, said she was first contacted by Scarborough based car group ‘Unloved JDM’ to make the shoot a reality.
She explained how the café regularly hosts local car groups, but encourages drivers to be sensible while on the premises - so was keen to find out more before she agreed.
But when the group said all it would need to do was host “lots of cars and lots of fun”, Rebecca responded: “That we can do.”
“It was really, really fun,” she said. “They were here for hours and hours.”
“We had a lot of fun seeing what happened behind the scenes.”
As reported by the Gazette & Herald, Relentless was filmed in various locations across Yorkshire – including Pickering, York, and Selby – and is to be released later this year.
On what it will be like to see the café on screen, Rebecca said: “It will be amazing.
“We are a very small family business with a passion for motor vehicles.”
This won’t be the first time the café has appeared on screen.
The venue has previously hosted TV shows, including Wheeler Dealers.
“We are just really lucky - we seem to attract lots of passionate people,” added Rebecca.
