THERE were two more Covid deaths recorded over the latest weekly period in Ryedale – as hospital administrations remain above 130.
The latest figures from the UK coronavirus dashboard show a total of 156 people had died in the area by March 16 – up from 154 on the week before.
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals Trust was caring for 133 patients with Covid in hospital as of Wednesday (March 22) figures show.
NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in hospital with Covid by 8am on March 29 was down from 134 on the same day the previous week.
The number of beds at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid increased in the last four weeks – 28 days ago, there were 98.
Nationally, the number of hospital patients with Covid has increased by 6 per cent in the last four weeks, while the number on mechanical ventilators has increased by 10 per cent.
The figures also show that 78 new patients with Covid were admitted to hospital in York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the week to March 27. This was the same number as in the previous seven days.
