WITH the Easter school holidays starting tomorrow (April 1) we’ve rounded up events taking place across Ryedale to keep you busy.
At Castle Howard, near Malton, there are activities for the whole family.
These include a trail of Wildlife Willow Sculptures around the grounds of the stately home, and a chocolate workshop in York Cocoa House’s Little Chocolate Factory in the courtyard.
The stately home’s house reopens tomorrow (April 1) where the Long Gallery will host a Coronation showcasing the significance of the historic ceremony.

An Easter egg hunt will take place at Nunnington Hall, near Helmsley, starting tomorrow (April 1), and running to April 16.
It will take place from 10.30am to 5pm, with the last entry at 4.15pm.

More Easter egg hunts will take place tomorrow (April 1), in Malton Castle Gardens, and on April 10 in St Mary's Old Malton.

An Easter egg hunt will take place in Wintringham church on April 10 from 11 am to 2pm.
There will also be further Easter egg hunts from April 3-16 at Eden Camp and on April 10 at Scampston Hall.

At Dalby Forest, an Easter trail will run from tomorrow (April 1) all week.
The trail offers participants the chance to find all the letters, spell out a hidden word and win a prize.
There will also be a dragon puppet making workshop next week, offering the chance to make a puppet with expert guidance.

Events in Ryedale towns
In Malton a Palm Sunday procession will take place outside the front of St Michael's Church, Market Place, on April 2 at 9.30am.
The route will go all around Market Place.
In Pickering, the town’s bee-trail will start on April 7.
Participants can follow the trail, count how many bees they think there are, and submit their answer.
The prize for the correct answer is a chocolate bee from Birdgate Chocolatiers and a bouquet of flowers from Dales Florist.
This trail will run until Earth Day, on April 22, when there will be further events in the town.

There will also be an Easter fair in Pickering Memorial Hall on April 1 from 10am-3pm with music, a tombola, a raffle, games, local stall holders, and more.
Further fun will be had at the memorial hall from April 7-10, when 12 local artists showcase their work as part of an art show.
In Thornton-le-Dale, an Easter trail will run from April 1 - trails are available from Wardill Bros, Maltongate.
The chance will be had to explore Helmsley, with the Helmsley Creativity Trail.
It follows a circular one mile route around the town with ideas for the whole family.

Helmsley Walled Garden will also run an Easter trail on April 8 from 10am – 3pm offering crafts, games and prizes.
