A Palm Sunday procession will take place in Malton this weekend complete with a donkey.
The procession will start outside the front of St Michael's Church, in Malton's Market Place, on Sunday, April 2, at 9.30am.
The route will go all around Market Place.
Heather Williams, St Michael’s Church Warden, said: "We believe this is the first time a donkey has been part of the Palm Sunday celebration at St Michael’s in living memory.
"The donkey is happy to be patted by children. Children and adults may wish to wave some greenery, in the absence of real palm fronds.
"After the procession the there will be a Palm Sunday service at St Michael's, appropriate for all ages, where the Passion story will be told through drama.
"Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available after the service. Everyone is very welcome."
