EMERGENCY services remain on the scene at a house fire in Ryedale.
Fire crews from Malton, Sherburn, Pickering, and the ariel ladder platform from Scarborough, responded to the report of a fire in a residential property in Langton Road, Norton, at 1.45pm.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was confirmed by the crews that the fire was in the roof of the property.
“Crews extinguished the fire and dampened down the area, removing the roof tiles and exposing timbers to ensure there were no remaining hot spots,” they said.
The service spokesperson said the incident is still ongoing.
