AN EVENT offering residents the chance to trade their unwanted goods is to return to Helmsley – in a bid to reduce the number of items being disposed of or wasted.
Helmsley Green Team is to run its popular ‘Give or Take’ event in the Town Hall, Market Place, on Sunday, April 2.
The event is supported by Ryedale District Council.
Give or Take events offer participants the chance to trade items which they no longer use, to reduce the amount of carbon being used if they were to be thrown away.
Doors open at 9.30am and entrance is free.
The event closes at 12.30pm.
Items can be donated in advance on Saturday, April 1, between 4pm and 6pm.
At the event, refreshments will be served by the Helmsley Girl Guides.

An event spokesperson added that they hope to have a local low carbon company on hand to answer questions about keeping bills low and reducing carbon footprints at home.
Wendy Rushton, chair of Helmsley Green Team, said: “As always we acknowledge the support of Ryedale District Council in organising the event and we look forward to seeing you there to grab a bargain completely free of charge!”
