FIREFIGHTERS were called today following reports of a fire in the engine of a car in Ryedale.
A fire crew from Malton were called to the incident at 2.12pm in Hovingham.
Upon their arrival, the crew dealt with the small fire within the engine compartment of the car.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the crew used one hose reel jet to damp down and a thermal image camera to check for hot spots.
They then gave advice to the owner of the vehicle.
