LATEST figures show the number of people being treated for Covid in York and Hospitals has continued to increase over the latest weekly period – but there were no deaths recorded in Ryedale over this period.
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals Trust was caring for 98 patients with Covid in hospital as of Tuesday (February 28), figures show.
NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in hospital with Covid by 8am on March 1 was up from 87 on the same day the previous week.
The latest figures from the UK Covid dashboard show a total of 151 people had died in the area by February 16 – which was unchanged from on the week before.
The number of beds at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid increased in the last four weeks – 28 days ago, there were 75.
Nationally, the number of hospital patients with Covid-19 has increased by 24 per cent in the last four weeks, while the number on mechanical ventilators has increased by 29 per cent
The figures also show that 62 new patients with Covid were admitted to hospital in York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the week to February 27. This was down from 68 in the previous seven days.
