Malton and Norton Lions Club has launched an appeal for those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
A spokesperson said: "Whilst Lions Club International has responded to the Turkish and Syrian earthquakes directly, we'd like to help on a local level. A Turkish restaurant owner in Beverley is collecting these items and sending them on trucks via the Red Cross.
Blankets, Pillows, Clothes, Baby clothes, Tents, Sleeping bags, Winter coats and boots, Dry food, sanitation and hygiene products.
" We will be collecting items at the Baptist Church, Wells Lane next to Yates at the following times (During Ryedale Free Fridge) Saturday 4th March - 8.30 to 11.30am Monday 6th March - 8.30 to 11.30am Wednesday 8th March - 8.30 to 11.30am Thursday 9th March - 5 to 7pm (During Library of Things)
