A NEW community scheme is to be launched in Ryedale, where members of the public can use items to assist with DIY activities for as little as £1.
The new Library of Things Malton & Norton (LoT MN) will be launching on March 2 in the Baptist Hall, Railway Street, Malton, from 5pm to 7pm.
Following the launch, LoT MN will be open every Thursday from 5pm to 7pm in the Baptist Hall for pickup and drop-off of items.

This community-powered charity helps people save money and reduce waste by affordably lending out useful items like drills, power washers and sewing machines.
The charity has received grants from Ryedale District Council and North Yorkshire County Council Stronger Communities - and, as a result, will offer useful household, DIY and gardening items for residents to borrow for as little as £1 a day.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “The reuse, repair and sharing of everyday items is one of the most practical and easy ways that we can reduce our environmental impact and promote a circular economy while also saving money.”
Items are available for preview on the website now and can be reserved online for pickup starting Thursday, March 9 at https: https://libraryofthingsmn.lend-engine.com/
