RESTORATION work has started to renovate a much-loved church in Kirkbymoorside, and uncover some features that have not been seen for decades.
The work is being carried out at All Saints Church by Jonathan Graham, 42, of J & C Graham Restorations and Designs – which specialises in heritage, decorating and exterior restorations.
Jonathan said he expects the project to take three weeks, during which time the church will remain open.
The work includes a combination of aesthetic preservation work and also a restoration of the church’s ceiling which Jonathan explained has not been viewed “in decades”.
Upon competition of the job, he said the work will be checked by the Kirkbymoorside Historical Society.
Of his work, Jonathan described it as “having a hand in the preservation of these old buildings that serve the community” in “dynamic ways”.
