THERE were no more Covid deaths recorded over the latest weekly period in Ryedale, but hospital admissions remained high.
The latest figures from the UK coronavirus dashboard show a total of 151 people had died in the area by January 26 – which was unchanged from on the week before.
The weekly figures now include anyone whose death certificate – registered up to 14 days before February 9 – mentions Covid as one of the causes.
A total of 181,434 deaths were recorded throughout England by January 26.
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals Trust was caring for 68 patients with coronavirus in hospital as of Tuesday, figures show.

NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in hospital with Covid by 8am on February 8 was down from 75 on the same day the previous week.
The number of beds at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid decreased by 47 per cent in the last four weeks – 28 days ago, there were 128.
Nationally, the number of hospital patients with Covid has decreased by 18 per cent in the last four weeks, while the number on mechanical ventilators has decreased by 36 per cent.
The figures also show that 29 new patients with Covid were admitted to hospital in York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the week to February 6. This was down from 32 in the previous seven days.
