A restaurant and bar in Malton is to reopen under new managerment.
Bistro 46 in Market Place has been let on behalf of the Fitzwilliam Malton Estate.
Bistro 46 was on the market with agents Fleurets for less than four months prior to the property completing to Oliver Farrar and Gemma Buckett who live in the local area and who are planning to reopen the restaurant as a sharing board and small plates restaurant.
There will be a brunch offering during the days and a Sunday lunch offering that will be unique to the area on Sundays.
The restaurant will be rebranded as “Forty Six” with the aim of opening by Easter. A full refurbishment has begun and Oliver and Gemma who are both chefs are excited to be on with their new project.
Simon Hall, Director and Head of Agency North said: “The plans for Bistro 46 are really exciting and I think that we have found a tenant that is striving to be in keeping with both Malton’s history of food and its title of food capital of Yorkshire.
During the time on the market, we had some really good interest levels. This was particularly pleasing given the challenges the hospitality industry is currently experiencing and reflects the confidence Oliver and Gemma have in their business and the town.”
