FIREFIGHTERS were on the scene earlier today (December 23) at a chimney fire at a home near Pickering.
A crew from Pickering responded to reports of the fire in a residential property in Middleton at 10.04am.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews extinguished the fire with access via the roof.
“The fire was confined to the chimney flue and was believed to have been caused by an accumulation of soot and resin in the flue.”
