THERE were two more Covid deaths recorded over the latest weekly period in Ryedale.
A total of 147 people had died in the area when the UK Covid dashboard was updated on December 22 (Thursday) – up from 145 on December 15.
The figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive test result for Covid, and whose usual residence was in Ryedale.
A total of 175,007 deaths were recorded throughout England by December 22 (Thursday) – up from 174,356 last week.
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals Trust was caring for 104 Covid patients in hospital as of December 20 (Tuesday), figures show.
NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 by 8am on December 21 was up from 80 on the same day the previous week.
The number of beds at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid-19 increased by 1 per cent in the last four weeks – 28 days ago, there were 103.
NHS figures also show that 70 new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the week to December 19.
This was up from 48 in the previous seven days.
