CHRISTMAS is set to get underway with a number of events in a Ryedale town.

Festive events are to be held in Pickering, at the Hungate Centre, throughout December.

On December 10 and 11 there will be a ‘Christmas Funday’ with festive fun including hot drinks, crafts, hair braiding, and a chance to meet the Grinch and Elsa.

The events will run from 10am to 3pm on both days, with funds going towards Family Fund and Cancer Research.

On December 18 and 19 there will be a Christmas pop-up market which is set to provide the perfect opportunity to purchase last minute gifts.

The market will be open on December 18 from 11am to 1.30pm and on December 19 from 10am to 3pm.

Rounding off the events will be a free festive event on December 21 from 2.30pm to 4pm.

This event promises festive fun, fronting the message: “Please don’t be alone this Christmas.”
