A PUB in a Ryedale village is to host a Christmas fair celebrating some of the best the area has to offer.

The New Inn at Cropton, Cropton Lane, will hold the fair on Saturday, December 3, from 11am to 4pm.

This is the pub’s first Christmas fair and, on the day, will be stalls from local artists Derek Thrippleton and Rob Temple.

Derek, who lives in Kirkbymoorside, took the top prize in the UK wide Supporting All Artists (SAA) Artist of the Year Competition in the summer, for his painting of an elephant.

Rob, who also lives in Kirkbymoorside, has been making a name for himself with art shows across the district since starting his art career just one year ago.

He started drawing in October 2021 after borrowing some crayons from his friend’s 10-year-old daughter, Jessica Greetham.

Also at the fair will be home baking, skincare gifts, handmade wooden items, crafts and beer gift packs.

Hot mulled cider will be served along with festive Yorkshire pudding wraps.

Entry for the fair is free.
