A PREP school in Ryedale has been recognised for its cricket offering.
Terrington Hall School has been named as one of the best schools in the country for cricket after a nationwide selection process by The Cricketer magazine.
The Cricketer carried out an ‘exhaustive’ survey of state and independent schools to arrive at its 2023 Schools Guide, which names the top 100 senior, top 50 prep/junior, and top 20 all-girls schools for cricket.
Terrington Hall boasts high quality cricket facilities and also offers cricket as part of the curriculum.
Last year the school’s U11 cricket team reached the English Schools Northern Final and won two regional tournaments.
Three of the school’s girls are in the Yorkshire Under 13 Cricket squad and three boys play for North Yorkshire Under 11s. Many boys and girls also play local club cricket.

Headmaster at Terrington Hall, Simon Kibler, said: “It’s an honour to be included in The Cricketer’s 2023 Schools Guide, and a reflection of our coaches’ hard work and dedication.
“I take huge delight in watching our boys’ and girls’ talent blossom as they take advantage of our superb facilities. They also obviously enjoy the game, which is great to see.”
Editor of The Cricketer, Huw Turbervill, said: “I‘ve read some inspirational stories working on this year’s guide. These young cricketers really are tomorrow’s heroes today.”
The 2023 Schools Guide is included alongside the December issue of The Cricketer magazine (on sale from November 18) and will be available digitally on thecricketer.com from 9 December.
