THE CHILDREN of the Yorkshire vet who inspired the hit TV series All Creatures Great and Small are to speak at a book signing event in Pickering.
To celebrate the publication of The Wonderful World of James Herriot, Pickering Book Tree, in Market Place, are hosting James Herriot’s son and daughter, Jim Wight and Rosie Page, at an event on Wednesday, November 16, from 7pm to 8pm.
The event will be a question-and-answer session and book signing.

Organisers say the event is perfect for fans of previous Herriot books, or those who want to hear stories about the life of the famous Yorkshire vet.
Tickets are free of charge but need to be booked in advance at the shop counter or at pickeringbooktree.co.uk
The Wonderful World of James Herriot is a special collection of favourite stories from the eight previous books, together with insights into the life and work of the real Alf Wight – who wrote the original All Creatures book using the pen-name James Herriot.
The book is available to buy from Pickering Book Tree for £18 (RRP £22).
