AN iPad is on offer for digital library customers in North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire County Council’s (NYCC) library service boasts around 21,000 eBooks, with more than 4,000 users making regular use of the collection.
During October, all eBook borrowers will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad, donated by the eBook supplier, BorrowBox.
This giveaway will coincide with Get Online Week – a show case of the digital offering at NYCC libraries running from October 17 to 23.
Library users will also be encouraged to enter the iPad giveaway during Libraries Week (October 3 to 9), which aims to highlight the role that libraries play in supporting life-long learning.
Executive member for libraries at NYCC, Cllr Greg White, said: “Many people don’t realise the huge range of digital resources that libraries have to offer. Every library member has access to thousands of eBooks, digital audiobooks, e-comics and e-graphic novels for free.
“We want to use this opportunity to raise awareness of our digital offer. The lucky winner will be able to use their new iPad to easily access our eBook collection.”
