A WREATH MAKER from Yorkshire has been asked to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II with a special wreath that will be sent down to Windsor.
Julie Smith, who is based near Pocklington, is the owner of Wolds Wreaths Decor.
The company creates bespoke wreaths for all occasions.
Along with making wreaths, Julie is also the owner of two fell ponies and a member of the Fell Pony Society – of which her Majesty was a patron.
Julie was asked by the society to send down one of her horse wreaths to Windsor, to be placed in the Queen’s stable yard.
The wreath will be placed near to the Queen’s beloved fell pony, Carltonlima Emma's, stable.
“It was such an honour to be asked to make this wreath for a tribute for Her Majesty's The Queen,” Julie said.
Of the wreath itself, Julie explained: “I chose red roses to represent Her Majesty's beauty, thistles to represent her favourite place, Balmoral; and the ferns, acorns and other embellishments to represent the countryside that she loved to be in.”
