Pickering's fire crew were first on the scene at a three-vehicle crash near the town last night (Monday).
The crew was on its way to Scarborough fire station when they came across a the road traffic collision on the A170 Thornton Road near Pickering at 8.22pm.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Sercice said: "They were then joined by Kirkbymoorside crew and Malton crew with their Incident Support Unit.
"The male occupant of the first vehicle was out of the vehicle upon arrival uninjured. The second vehicle, a Peugeot, had two female occupants.
"The passenger was walking wounded and the driver was trapped in the vehicle mechanically.
"Crews released the driver and she was transported to hospital with leg injuries. The third vehicle was a Vauxhall Corsa with one female occupant. They were able to walk from the vehicle and were left in hands of paramedics.
"Crews used hydraulic and battery powered cutters and spreaders, lighting, first aid and a sharps protection kit to deal with the incident.
A police spokesperson said: " If anyone has any dash cam footage would they please forward it to PC 1786 Huw Walkey , Road Policing Officer Huw.walkey@northyorkshire.police.uk"
