A GARDEN Machinery Company based in a North Yorkshire town has gone viral on TikTok.

Campbells of Malton have picked up over six million views on the popular social platform with a video of a bus being cleaned.

Despite, it being the company’s first ever TikTok video it proved to be a very successful.

“We were amazed when the video amassed 1million views in the first day, 10.1k ‘likes’ 105 comments and 1787 shares  - we didn’t expect it to go much further but we are now at 5.6 million views, 7,608 shares, 50,800 likes and 473 comments," said operations director at Harrison Hire and Sales and Campbells of Malton, Anne Harrison.

"(We're) now classing Harrison Hire & Sales as a ‘Viral Sensation’ with well over 6300 followers.

“We’ve had some hilarious comments like, ‘I want one of these, and I don’t even have a bus.’ We had no idea what we were doing, but it worked.

"Now we just have to follow it up, but the ideas are already flowing.”

The TikTok account was set up by Caroline Chapman from the company after she attended a machine delivery with Anne’s son, Ben Corner.

“At home one night Caroline decided to have a trial run at setting up our first TikTok, and under the watchful eye of her teenage daughter, she uploaded the video of the Iteco Brushwash in action, speeded it up and added the ‘On The Buses’ theme tune,” explained Anne.

Harrison Hire and Sales are the new proprietors of Campbells Garden Machinery.

Anne said the company wish to carry on the “good name and work that Mark Campbell has achieved.”

Harrison Hire and Sales have retained two members of staff to continue with the mowers, chainsaws and other garden machinery repairs and sales.

They are also expanding Campbells’ ranges of cleaning equipment into the Home and Garden sector to work alongside the equipment already being supplied.

Anne added: “There are also plans to expand on the hire of garden machinery from Campbells, in line with their existing range of cleaning equipment hired from the Head Office in Settrington, where Harrison Hire and Sales have been based for over 55 years.

“It took a little while to get the Lease and all the legal side completed, so Campbell’s unfortunately had to be shut for a few weeks, and of course as a new business taking over, we have had to open new accounts with all the suppliers which has been challenging, but the workshop reopened at the start of July and we are finally seeing the shop floor filling up as it should be.

“We have received many good wishes on its reopening and customer response to the continuation of Campbells Garden Machinery as a whole has been inspiring.”
