A POPULAR Ryedale business is offering customers the chance to get involved and create their own products.
Cosy Cottage Soap, based on Market Place in Malton, is running a series of soap making workshops where customers will be able to make their own versions of the sought-after items.
The workshops aims to raise awareness of plastic pollution by creating palm oil free solid soaps, encouraging those taking part to switch from single use plastic options such as shower gel.
There will also be information on the history and chemistry of soap making, along with refreshments.
Up to ten participants at a time can take part in the workshops, which will run from 2pm on September 24 and October 29.
Clara Challoner Walker, CEO and founder of Cost Cottage Soap, said: “At these workshops, participants learn how to make their own natural, cold process soap from oils, waxes and fats and fragrance them with their own blend of essential oils.
“Everyone has six soaps they have made themselves to take home with them and use too.”
