EMERGENCY services were on the scene yesterday (July 11) at a field fire near Ripon.
Fire crews from Ripon and Harrogate attended the blaze at 4.07pm at Hitton Bank, Sharow.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “(Crews) requested a further four appliances due to the 300-metre fire front.
“Crews worked with the farmer to extinguish the fire.
“Incident has been scaled down now.”
At the time of the incident, Police were also on the scene asking drivers to avoid the area.

There are fires in fields alongside the A61 at Hutton Bank (north east of Ripon).
