THE annual international sheepdog trials will be held at Castle Howard in September.
Members of the farming community and spectators are expected to flock to the stately home where 15 dogs representing four national teams will compete at the event which runs from September 9-11.
The sheepdogs will compete over the first two days of the event, showcasing their talents to win the Supreme title on Sunday September 11.
This is the first time that international competition has been welcomed to Castle Howard and local companies have said they are looking forward to the arrival of these dogs.
Ripon Farm Services (RFS), a family-owned multibranch agricultural dealer covering 12 sites across Yorkshire, Teesside, Lincolnshire, and Nottinghamshire, have been named an official sponsor of the event.
Animal feed suppliers Gilbertson and Page remain the trial’s main sponsors.
Commercial director at RFS, Richard Simpson, said: “We are proud to be sponsoring such a prestigious competition in the agricultural diary.
“It’s very rare for international trials to be on the doorstep so we jumped at the chance to be involved.
"Sheep farming is an integral part of Yorkshire life and we’re very much looking forward to having a presence across all three days of the event.”
Spectator tickets will be available to purchase on Castle Howard’s website: https://www.castlehoward.co.uk/
